Hands Together

On the journey of life, today, more than ever, the world needs gentleness.

Reaching out to others

Gentle hands doing kind deeds.

Today, more than ever, the world needs compassion and strength.

Helping those in need

Strong hands reaching out to do what is right.

Today, more than ever, the world needs laughter.

Lifting each other up when times are hard.

Hands that clap and rejoice, making music and fun.

Today more than ever the world needs love.

Showing care through a touch, no matter the place

Hands that stroke and give comfort, hug and embrace.

It starts at home.  Being gentle. With everything and everyone.

Our hands are a gift to be used.  Since my mum’s been in a care facility one of the best ways I can reach her is with my hands. Holding her hand, stroking her, calming and showing her I care.  She may not be able to talk but I believe that the power of touch can reach a person’s soul.  Speaking without words.

And gentleness and kindness extends to every living creature.

Where would we be without the use of our hands?

There’s so much beauty around us to be found, sometimes right under our noses.

Taking photos (800x600)

When we’re traveling, capturing those special moments, through our camera lens is what makes being in the great outdoors so enjoyable. Making us feel so alive.

And so much fun, especially when we get creative!

Isn’t it amazing how much our hands can hold, when we put our mind to it.

At the end of the day let’s toast to what we have in our life.

May we be grateful for the things we often take for granted, the simple things that mean so much, whether it’s a hug, a smile or just holding hands.

I wish you all love, laughter, happiness and peace as we reach out to others and continue our journey.

  1. You took a simple feature and gave it a whole new meaning, I never saw hands in this light before this post. And lovely images, as always ^.^ – Michelle

  2. I love this post! I truly believe in the all of the power our hands hold. Such a small gesture like reaching out and touching can change the way someone feels. The Infinite powers we hold in our hands are like nothing I’ve ever witnessed before. It’s so easy to take them for granted. I’m happy for the reminder.
    P.S. I love your photos!!!

  3. Miriam, you are so inspiring to me.
I see you reaching out with your blog like hands of kindness, of loving 🙂
I’m a minister in an alternative spiritual group, and there’s a line in my blessing (we each get a blessing) that says, “Reach out and let yourself be supported now.” Thanks.
    Blessings your way.

  4. This is such a beautiful post Miriam! I agree, touch is a language of love. Sometimes, even more powerful than words…I hope that your mom is doing well. She’s very lucky to have such a caring and loving daughter like you!
I love the pitures of the guitar, yellow daffodils, and the dog. 😊 These are things that I love too!

  5. You are so right, Miriam! The best response we can give to all the ugliness and hate in the world today is to show gentle kindness to everyone we can. Sometimes “setting a good example” is exactly the right thing to do. And it makes us feel better, too!

  6. Hands are such amazing tools. I think probably everything that’s ever been made has been made with hands. Kind of mind boggling when you stop to think about it.

I love the silly pictures. 😀 The lighthouse looks like a little salt shaker in that picture.

Thinking of you, dearheart. Stay warm and know you’re in my thoughts! *hugs* ❤

  7. Beautiful post as always Miriam. I’ve been missing out on your posts thanks to everything that’s been happening at my end but seeing this served to remind me why I should visit more often 🙂 So much heart in your writing and perfectly complemented by the pictures 🙂

    P.S. That’s some great perspective photography 🙂
