From Wave Rock to the South West Coast

February 13, 2022

Once again it feels as though the Universe is guiding us. Soon after we leave Denmark, bushfires rage through and around the area. We’re unaffected. And the day after we visit Wyllie Bay in Cape Le Grand National Park there’s a shark attack not far from the beach we swam at, literally 24 hours earlier. … More From Wave Rock to the South West Coast

Our First West Australian Home Stay

January 16, 2022

It was our first ever home stay. I registered with Mindahome a couple of months ago and this was our first “assignment”: a week of looking after a place and pets: one dog, two rabbits and some chickens. I felt suitably qualified to care for them as I’ve had all of the above and more, … More Our First West Australian Home Stay

Lost and Found – From darkness to light

November 4, 2021

It was the news that everything wanted and had prayed for and that we eventually woke up to on Wednesday 3rd November. Four year old Cleo had been found, alive and well, after 18 days of being missing in West Australia. It was a post by fellow blogger Ann from Muddling through my Middle Age … More Lost and Found – From darkness to light

Wild and Blooming Free

October 26, 2021

The wildflowers in Western Australia have really been showing off this year. There’s been lots of rain so it’s been a bumper year for blooms. It reminds of when I was a 19 year old and on a wet wildflower bus tour in the Margaret River region of WA with a girlfriend. It was supposed … More Wild and Blooming Free

Colours of the Earth

October 19, 2021

From the dazzling area of Shark Bay and Denham we continue on to the red earth of Kalbarri National Park. It takes about four hours and we base ourselves at Murchison Station. The sight of the wildflowers and mountains as we drive in gives us a taste of what’s to come. “Your life is a … More Colours of the Earth

Starting Fresh in 2021

January 7, 2021

A fresh start, a clean slate … a brighter tomorrow is never too late for anyone. I hope your year’s started well. My first days of 2021 were spent at a tiny place called Bealiba, in the goldfields region of Victoria. Years ago miners flocked to this area to find their fortune. Today fossickers still … More Starting Fresh in 2021

No more Scaremongering

September 19, 2020

Whatever we give our attention to becomes our reality. When we focus on fear the darkness seems more intense but when that focus is love everything shifts. So, how do we let go of the scaremongering? … More No more Scaremongering

Mindful in May and Beyond

May 6, 2020

“Be happy in the moment, that’s enough.” Paying attention to what’s around us and finding peace and joy, particularly in these challenging times, has never been so important. That’s mindfulness, I’ve blogged about it many times before. As we adjust to a new way of being, mindfulness could be described as a way of befriending … More Mindful in May and Beyond

Life Lessons from Animals

April 27, 2020

If only we could live as lightly as animals. Taking what we need and nothing more. They live in sync with nature, can teach us so much and, as pets, bring a world of love and laughter to our lives. Their playful innocence and unconditional love can ground us in todays crazy, uncertain times. This … More Life Lessons from Animals

The highlight of our day in Byfield National Park was a picnic and a swim in the rainforest oasis of Stoney Creek. In crystal clear water we could see so much underwater life. Simply magical. 🐢🌴
From the country to the coast. And an idyllic infinity pool. Loving life. 💙💙
New life. 🐣 Proud mum Martina and her brood of baby chickens. Overnight another chick was born and then there were 12. 🐥Swipe to see the newest addition and a bit of morning flurry. So cute. 💛
Calm country living. Before the storm. Some have it way easier than others. Swipe to see.
As the sun comes up on another still, balmy Queensland morning I wonder what action the week ahead will bring.
Yesterday Tilly decided it was more fun to ride IN the kayak. After swimming for awhile she ended up playing lookout from the front. 😂
