When the Journey Changes Direction

May 6, 2022

As we settle back into Victoria after our epic ten months travelling around Australia, I reflect on our time away and how grateful I am for it all Looking back it’s hard to know where to start so thank goodness for this blog which allowed me to journal our adventures. With so much wow factor … More When the Journey Changes Direction

Exploring the Gawler Ranges

April 16, 2022

After leaving the moody blues on the Eyre Peninsula coastline we head inland and begin our adventure in the Gawler Ranges. Our first stop is Wudinna, pronounced Wuddna, as said a truckie on the UHF radio coming into town. It has a nice vibe, there’s a huge statue of The Australian Farmer, a scenic 30km … More Exploring the Gawler Ranges

From Wave Rock to the South West Coast

February 13, 2022

Once again it feels as though the Universe is guiding us. Soon after we leave Denmark, bushfires rage through and around the area. We’re unaffected. And the day after we visit Wyllie Bay in Cape Le Grand National Park there’s a shark attack not far from the beach we swam at, literally 24 hours earlier. … More From Wave Rock to the South West Coast

From Bunbury to the Forest Giants

January 27, 2022

From Bunbury we skirt around Perth. It’s still school holidays and everywhere on the southwest coast is busy, so we’ve booked a farm stay at Big River Station in the Margaret River region. It’s a peaceful spot and we spend three relaxing and very enjoyable days there. From there we travel further south to where … More From Bunbury to the Forest Giants

Gratitude for the Journey

January 1, 2022

I’ve been keeping a diary for most of my life. On and off I pen musings, memories, what’s happening at the time, places I’ve visited and people I’ve met. I’ve chronicled heartaches, joys and silly stuff I’d have otherwise forgotten. And I’ve often poured out my heart and vented on paper when times were hard. … More Gratitude for the Journey

Farewell 2021 and Goodbye Kalbarri

December 30, 2021

As we say goodbye to 2021 and this coastal community we’ve lived in for the past two months I reflect on our time here and the year that’s been. Slowing down, choosing to work whilst holidaying and immersing ourselves in this beautiful town has changed the feel of our journey. Slow down and enjoy life. … More Farewell 2021 and Goodbye Kalbarri

Cleansing, Celebrating and Choosing Love

December 21, 2021

It continually amazes me how the Universe brings us what we put out there. When I chose my word of the year back in January, I had no idea how apt it would be and that in December I’d be working as a cleaner at a caravan park in West Australia! What was my word? … More Cleansing, Celebrating and Choosing Love

Lost and Found – From darkness to light

November 4, 2021

It was the news that everything wanted and had prayed for and that we eventually woke up to on Wednesday 3rd November. Four year old Cleo had been found, alive and well, after 18 days of being missing in West Australia. It was a post by fellow blogger Ann from Muddling through my Middle Age … More Lost and Found – From darkness to light

Wild and Blooming Free

October 26, 2021

The wildflowers in Western Australia have really been showing off this year. There’s been lots of rain so it’s been a bumper year for blooms. It reminds of when I was a 19 year old and on a wet wildflower bus tour in the Margaret River region of WA with a girlfriend. It was supposed … More Wild and Blooming Free

Colours of the Earth

October 19, 2021

From the dazzling area of Shark Bay and Denham we continue on to the red earth of Kalbarri National Park. It takes about four hours and we base ourselves at Murchison Station. The sight of the wildflowers and mountains as we drive in gives us a taste of what’s to come. “Your life is a … More Colours of the Earth

Well hello there! One of the joys of being home again is having unexpected visitors drop in. 💙😊
Sunset from my lush, green, overgrown backyard today. It’s amazing how the garden grows over ten months! But a great day to get out and get dirty. Have a bright, beautiful weekend everyone. 🧡❤️
What a great way to end our ten months on the road. A fantastic free camp, Rummy-O, red wine and steak cooked over the coals. And lots of reminiscing.
Outback life.
Kalbarri is the focus of my latest article in print … “Remarkable and Recovering” featured in the April edition of @4x4australiamag with my story on this coastal town and how it’s getting back on its feet after Cyclone Seroja tore through it in early 2021. Swipe to see more pages and pics.
