Farewell 2021 and Goodbye Kalbarri

December 30, 2021

As we say goodbye to 2021 and this coastal community we’ve lived in for the past two months I reflect on our time here and the year that’s been. Slowing down, choosing to work whilst holidaying and immersing ourselves in this beautiful town has changed the feel of our journey. Slow down and enjoy life. … More Farewell 2021 and Goodbye Kalbarri

Cleansing, Celebrating and Choosing Love

December 21, 2021

It continually amazes me how the Universe brings us what we put out there. When I chose my word of the year back in January, I had no idea how apt it would be and that in December I’d be working as a cleaner at a caravan park in West Australia! What was my word? … More Cleansing, Celebrating and Choosing Love

Navigating the West Coast

December 1, 2021

Welcome to December and to summer in Australia. Time has sped by so fast, much like the clouds overhead, the wind that constantly buffets us in Kalbarri and the stars in the sky that dazzle and then disappear. Here in Western Australia, where we’ve been for over three months, it feels like summer every day. … More Navigating the West Coast

Colours of the Earth

October 19, 2021

From the dazzling area of Shark Bay and Denham we continue on to the red earth of Kalbarri National Park. It takes about four hours and we base ourselves at Murchison Station. The sight of the wildflowers and mountains as we drive in gives us a taste of what’s to come. “Your life is a … More Colours of the Earth

Life is all about balance. And awesome adventure.
Wild, wet and wonderful. 💚🌴That’s Babinda, our free camp about 60kms south of Cairns. Swipe through to see some tropical low life and our little green hitchhiker. 🌴🏝️
Gorgeous Etty Bay, not far from Innisfail. There’s not much here, except a road that leads to a soft white beach, a Surf Life Saving Club and a small caravan park. Oh, and the local Southern Cassowarys that patrol the area.
Everyone has a dream. For Jose Paronella, a pastry chef coming from Spain to Far North Queensland in 1929 his dream was to build a castle. And so he did! On 13 acres beside Mena Creek Falls he built castles, bridges and tunnels and wrapped it up in an amazing range of 7000 tropical plants and trees.
First campfire we’ve had in ages! From beachside to riverside in under an hour. We mightn’t be travelling very far or fast but we’re loving the changeable far North Queensland landscape. 🌴
Have you ever tried a pineapple port? 🍍Just down the road from Kurrumine Beach is Murdering Point Winery, the only winery I’ve ever been to that uses exotic tropical fruits instead of grapes.
