A Gift of Mindfulness

Today, as I celebrate 55 years on this planet, I’m filled with gratitude. I also wonder where on earth the years have gone. Seems like only yesterday I was a wide eyed teenager.

I reflect on all the experiences that have made up my journey so far, all the joy and blessings, all the challenges and lessons. And I feel as though, in many respects, the best is yet to come.

Whilst this year has been one of the most tumultuous humanity has seen, for me personally it’s been one of inner growth and transformation, one of surrender and being in the flow. It’s been a year like no other.

I’m sharing something extra special on this post, something that began a few months ago. Let me backtrack.

It was May, Autumn here in Australia, and walking was (and still is) my time for tuning into stillness. Every day as I walked I noticed the intricate details, the colours and changes in the season. Upon returning home I would journal my thoughts. The outer landscape merged with my inner world.

Somewhere along the way a seed was born. I had a vision of combining my photos and words into a keepsake book. The seed blossomed into life as my book began to take shape. And so it began.

From start to finish my book below is a pictorial celebration of life, hope and natural beauty. Within 64 pages I capture some of the wonder of our world, of life giving, renewing and forgiving nature. Regardless of the global turmoil, the miracle of Mother Earth is constant.

“Each day I walked, often the same path, but seeing the day with new eyes …”

Seeing life through the eyes of love instead of fear shifts everything. Somehow being in nature reminds us to let love lead the way and to stay grounded and present.

How wondrous it is to stay in the moment. Whenever you read this, know that the words apply, to any day of any month and to any moment in time.

“Each day, whatever the month, we can choose to live in a mindful state, where opportunity exists to discover a slower way of living, one that is in tune with our heart and our truest self.”

This is my gift to you. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to honour nature and share my small creation that came from being open to our natural world.

So here it is. I give it with love and gratitude, for all I have and all that I am.

I invite you to click the link in the photo below. It will open in a new website and from there you can click on any of the corners of the book to turn and scroll through each page.

Please enjoy an exploration of both our inner and outer landscape in A Mindful Month: A Journey into Mindfulness.

In love and light,
Miriam

    1. Thanks so much Sue, for your beautiful words here and your friendship and support. It’s certainly been a year like no other but connecting to nature on a deeper level and going within has been cathartic. This little creation, my book, was simply a result of tapping into that feeling. Anyway, thank you dear friend for the birthday wishes. I had a lovely day. xx

  5. Hi Miriam…and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! There’s nothing better in life than when it is your birthday and YOU give a gift to the world!! And what a wonderful gift!!! Thank you! I simply adore your beautiful book…I just read the whole thing but believe it will be better to take one a day…like a vitamin to the soul…to take and reflect upon the true meaning of the words from your heart<3
I know we've discussed these strange times we are living in, but like you, I also have found myself out in nature MORE…and witnessing the miracle of it all. Yesterday I saw the largest Iguana I have ever seen…I struggled to get my phone out of my plastic bag I had it in because it was getting ready to rain…but he stayed and let me get a shot of him in his full glory!! And then later that day a crazy squirrel was hanging upside down on my patio screen…and he was eating something. He stayed forever…upside down. Made me think he had a message for me 😉
I hope you will be surrounded by loved ones on your birthday weekend! I wish you all good things!! ❤

        1. I’m so happy that you’re feeling at peace. It can be tough when we’re holed up in our homes for a long time. I’m glad that you’re making the best of it.
I’ve been going to office since May. The fear has subsided. Things have almost come back to normal and the restrictions have all been relaxed. I’m taking all the necessary precautions and going forward. That’s only way to deal with this pandemic.

    1. Hello Kate. Thank you so much for your bday wishes and your kind words about my book here. It was such a pleasure to create this and share the finished product. Was debating how to share it/promote it/monetise it and in the end this felt right. Big hugs to you dear friend. xx 😊

      1. If it’s meant to bring your money it will come!

If Doug has lost his job is it worth putting a ‘donation’ button on your site? Some blogs ask for the cost of a coffee for every post you read … no need to be so bold but you touch many hearts and some might like to contribute 🙂

        1. Must admit I’ve not really looked too far into the technical side of trying to install donate buttons etc. I’ve always blogged just for the joy of it … but who knows. I guess, as you say, if it’s meant to bring money, it will come. 🙏😊

  8. Hello Dear Miriam and Happy Birthday. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful book. I couldn’t resist reading the whole thing in one go, but I shall revisit in a more gentle fashion later. It is very inspiring and the photo’s are gorgeous I particularly enjoyed the dogs popping in now and then.

PS. Because I am a pedant on the introduction page the word ‘titled’ should be ’tilted’ – I worried about mentioning it but I know you would want to change it. XX

    1. Hi Barbara and thanks so much for my birthday wishes and your kind words about my book. The intro, groan, can’t believe I missed that one word! Unfortunately it’s not an easy fix, because of its format. It may have to stay as an example of my imperfection! Hugs xx

    1. Thank you soo much dear Amy. It hadn’t even dawned on me, the fact that 55 is a Master number. And that 1 is my angel birth number. Of course! It’s interesting because I’ve been sitting on this book for a while, unsure of its intention until recently when I just knew I had to share and when. I hope you enjoy it when you have a chance. All the best with all of your busyness. I read your last post, beautiful as always. Know you’re often in my thoughts. Sending you big hugs and love and thank you once again for your beautiful wishes. xxx 💖🙏

I’m SO grateful to myself for not giving up, for maintaining integrity, and allowing myself to grow in ways I never saw coming. I believe with all I AM that we are on the cusp of a Golden Era. Much love to you ….. God bless you! This intense phase of getting into the Golden Era is almost finished. Rejoice!! xo

  12. Happy Birthday, Miriam! I couldn’t get the book to load onto my computer, but I’ll try again later. My internet service has been really slow lately, probably from so many people working from home these days. Still, I think it’s a lovely idea and I can’t wait to see it!

  16. Huge Birthday greetings and hugs, Miriam. ❤️ Every day is a reason to celebrate. Especially, a birthday. Again, your words give me goosebumps. “…inner growth and transformation, one of surrender and being in the flow.” The photo of your shadow adds to the depth and layers in your words. “…the miracle of Mother Earth is constant.” Nature does have a way of bringing out the best in us. Nature is Us.

Even though it is a post on your birthday, you are giving a gift of your words to us, your readers. Thank you!

  18. Hello my lovely lioness slash rockstar slash inspirational forcefield of love and light and fun! Wow, I love this so much!! I know I am repeating myself, but I sincerely cannot get enough from your gorgeous writing, creating, and wise yet playful spirit:)❤️I have just started to read your fantastic, sorry, FANTASTIC, book and beautiful photos. Thank you so much for this deeply thoughtful (no pun intended :)) and inspiring guide back to our hearts and souls, and back to the stillness that’ s at the core of everything. It’s so much easier to find this peace in mother nature’s protective embrace in times like these and probably in general – as you know we could not be more aligned on these values and insights my dear:). I absolutely love your book and will savor every piece of it over the next days! “Feel the sense that you belong, and are part of, a much bigger picture” “The world is not speeding up, people are”Sigh, could not agree more!❤️❤️❤️ Grazie tanto amica, hope you are keeping well and I am so glad you had a great birthday:) Mil besos, baci, y mucho amore ❤️❤️❤️A presto cara
