Planting Dreams

Creativity is in the air. Can you feel it?

Plants are in the ground, seeds are being sown and a spectacular once in a lifetime lunar phenomenon has just graced our skies in Melbourne.

After a time of lull in January it feels like the energy is shifting.

This past month for me has been a gentle easing into the new year. I enjoyed catching up with a close friend who shares my creativity and I was stirred by a rousing musical (The Greatest Showman)  an amazing movie that fuelled my dreams.

I camped in nature, by the ocean and by mountain rivers, I stood under an invigorating waterfall and lay awake at night listening to the peaceful sounds of the bush. I woke to the chorus of birds.

I meditated, journalled and immersed myself in what I love, a bit like dreaming with eyes wide open. Now, though the slumbering may be over, the dreams feel very real.

Let me share a story about what happened to me recently. Bare with me as, buried beneath my words here, is our newest song.

A few weeks ago I wrote a letter to the Universe and buried it in my garden. You might remember, I blogged about it here.

In the letter I poured out my deepest dreams and intentions for this year.

Only a few days later I was at my neighbors house. As I walked back home, in 38C searing heat, I noticed a paper lying on my front lawn.

Thinking it was rubbish blown out from a bin I picked it up. When I read the words I got goosebumps. This was no ordinary sheet of paper.

I looked up and down the street, thinking maybe it was a pamphlet that had been dropped off to every household, but no, it was only in front of my house. So I took it inside, sat on my bed and read it again.

It looked like a page from a book. This is what was written:

We deserve wildness. Wildness can be as simple as wearing tall boots when none of your friends do, or taking to gorgeous strangers, or visiting expensive hotels for just a cup of tea. Whatever takes us out of our routine and gives us a little interior spark, is wild.

Being tame is what we’re taught.

Put the crayons back, stay in line, don’t talk too loud, keep your knees together, nice girls don’t …

As you might know, NICE GIRLS DO, and they like to feel wild and alive. Being tame feels safe, being wild unsafe. Yet safety is an illusion anyway.

No matter how dry and tame and nice we live, we will die. We will also suffer along the way.

Living wild is its own reward. Tiny wildnesses are everywhere to experiment with.”

There was more on the back.

It ended with the words …
If you asked me what I came into this world to do, I will tell you. I came to live out loud.” Emile Zola.

The words spoke directly into my soul.

Small miracles … these flowers were once all white, then turned purple

Was the Universe hearing me already?

When I emailed Deb, my talented co-creating friend with my story, little did I imagine that within 24 hours she would create a poem from my words.

From that poem this song was born.

Rob has again added his musical talents to produce an ethereal touch that enhances and lifts the song to new heights.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed singing it and as much as we all enjoying creating it.

Here is “Planting Dreams”.

Now, as February beckons, I can feel the focus and energy changing. Tonight I witnessed the rare convergence of a Super Blue Blood Moon and a total lunar eclipse in the heavens. Wow, what a sight!

I have a feeling its brightness will continue to shine on into the rest of 2018.

Releasing, letting go, illuminating … this is a time for moving into a brighter future.

This is the time to fuel our creativity, to find what we love, if we haven’t already, and to make it a part of our life.

It’s a time to explore and nurture our inner child, to meditate, write, draw, dance, sing, immerse yourself in nature or music. It’s a time to find our balance.

Do what fuels your desire and what lights a spark in your heart.

Dare to dream big and know it can come true.

The Universe hears what you put out there. How else can I explain the unexpected page of wild, quirky, inspiring words that appeared practically on my doorstep, only days after burying my own letter of intentions?

So set those goals and believe in them, plan deliberately, feel their power and take steps to turn action into wild creativity.

Live with purpose and passion and you’ll be on the path to joy.

Remember that your mind is like a garden with your thoughts the seeds. Plant the dreams you want, tend your garden and then watch as they come to life.

There’s nothing you can’t be, do or have if you believe.

It might not happen overnight but it will happen.

“Be brave and bold and proud.
Don’t be scared to light that spark.
Live your life out loud”

Here’s to the music continuing and to life blossoming as we continue on our journey.

Happy February everyone. Keep looking up.

In light and love.

As for that letter, well, it was all pretty amazing. But that seems to be the order of my life lately, signs and strange things happening. Hope you’re well. How amazing was that moon! xo

  10. How AMAZING – I’ve genuinely got goosebumps after reading about your experience and listening to another wonderful song from you and Deb. Gosh – I should say I can’t get over the paper appearing from thin air, but actually I can because when I was going through an awful time at work, feeling incredibly stressed one day, I walked from my Brilliance Within Hut in the garden, past my car on the drive, on the way into my house. Something stopped me at the car and I realised I’d left it open. I opened the back door and on the seat of the car was a Dale Carnegie book which I’ve never seen before and to this day have no idea where it came from. The words in that book were meant for me that day and I’ve not looked back since! Universal inspiration Miri!! xx

    1. I remember you telling me that story Wendy and even today, reading it again, it gives me goosebumps. Amazing isn’t it. We can’t explain it but somehow these signs reach us, just when we need them most. That book was meant to reach you just as that page was there for me, I have no doubt. Here’s to keeping our eyes open to all of these amazing signs from the Universe and more. Hope all’s well with you. 🙂 xo

  12. Oh God, Miriam, I love this!!! You wrote so much beauty, I almost don’t even know where to start. ❤

The quote that touches you is amazing. Singing your own song is amazing. Living "outside the lines" is amazing!

For some reason, these two sentences stood out for me particularly: "Releasing, letting go, illuminating … this is a time for moving into a brighter future. This is the time to fuel our creativity, to find what we love, if we haven’t already, and to make it a part of our life."

I so acknowledge you for stepping into your dreams, for your courage in expressing yourself and your song, and for your consistent encouragement for each of us who follow you to spread our joy too!!! (Reminds me of an Emerson quote, "Scatter joy.")

I'd love to share this for #ForgivingFridays. If you are called to, feel free to contribute it — as a reminder, all you need to do is link back to my last Forgiving Fridays post, and include #ForgivingFridays in your tags.

Anyway, blessings to you Miriam. I'm so happy to know you. My heart is touched with your kindness, caring, and expressing your presence. Love and hugs, Debbie

    1. Hi Debbie, thank you so much for your beautiful heartfelt comment here (and sorry it’s taken so long to reply. I read it yesterday and was so touched, then I got distracted). Anyway, of course you are more than welcome to include this in your Forgiving Friday’s post. I’d be honoured in fact. Your words are always your generous and supportive.
Here’s to our dreams coming true. Have a wonderful weekend my friend whatever you’re doing. Hugs from me xo 💕

  13. Miriam, thank you for the reminder to live boldly. I always say, “You only get one ride through life.” But I admit that I get lulled back into daily living and forget to step out of my comfort zone. You shook me awake again today. Thank you blogging friend. Have a beautiful day.

    1. Thanks Ali. We all have a tendency to get sucked back into daily stresses and fall into old patterns don’t we, but that’s why we give ourselves these daily nudges and reminders. Hope you have a beautiful day too.

  14. Oh Miriam.. I got goosebumps, on my goosebumps.. 🙂
What wonderful synchronicity and the Universe listens in ways we are only just understanding.
We who are on our awaking journey’s know our thoughts and desires are listened to. And we are given the signs along the way..
The Universe leaves it up to us, ( our free will ) to either follow the signs or not. We now are open to seeing them ever more.

And I am so so pleased Miriam that your own deepest dreams are being heard and answered, in such remarkable ways..

So loved your new song.. A wonderful collaboration and it’s just so beautiful. 🙂

    Your words,

This is the time to fuel our creativity, to find what we love, if we haven’t already, and to make it a part of our life.

It’s a time to explore and nurture our inner child, to meditate, write, draw, dance, sing, immerse yourself in nature or music. It’s a time to find our balance. ”

As you know, I am also nurturing my inner child.. And enjoying the freedom of the dance.. 😀

Love and Blessings dear Miriam.. I am so so happy for you…. 🙂 xxxx ❤ Hugs my friend xx

    1. You’re right Sue, the Universe does leave it up to us, whether or not we take note of those signs. I feel so awakened now and it’s enlightening to see they really are all around us. This was more proof for me, on a huge scale.
I’m so glad that you’re also nurturing your inner child Sue. Enjoy the journey and process and as you so beautifully put it “the freedom of the dance”.
Thank you for your lovely comment my friend, here’s to a wonderful dream inspired life for both of us. Hugs ❤️🙂 xx

  17. Hello dear Miriam,
Oh my…this is a very big moment for you, I can tell.
It’s like something clicked and a greater resolve was born to follow your dreams, my friend. The passion in your writing as you urge us on to follow our dreams…to reassure us in such a beautiful way, that the universe is absolutely wanting the best for us.
I was so taken with your story of the paper that landed before you…how often do we just toss them aside into the recycle bin!!
    Just awe inspiring.
And as for your song…sweetness and beauty. You are truly gaining your ‘voice’ with every song you post. I can feel your confidence rise like your moon, Miriam.
Just a brilliant post and message.
I’m happy I came to find this one. So sorry for my absence but I appreciated your reference to inspire me to come seek…
    Much love from me 💐💐💝💝

I’m still very much finding where I fit and doing some soul searching currently.
I’m so happy to know you have found a spark, and you give me encouragement after your time of soul searching too, that the loveliest of things can be born from a seemingly fleeting moment…
Yes, I’m proud to think we know each other well…
Thank you for your ever beautiful friendship…it means a lot.

        1. I sense a feeling of vulnerability here Di. We all have those moments my beautiful friend, especially in a new place, starting again and finding where we fit in (even when we’ve lived somewhere our whole lives, we can still feel that soul searching). You’ll find your place and that spark, remember it’s inside you, it never really leaves you. And with that spark of yours you’ll undoubtedly attract who and what you need in your life. Big hugs and love from me to you🌹💖
