Planting Dreams

Creativity is in the air. Can you feel it?

Plants are in the ground, seeds are being sown and a spectacular once in a lifetime lunar phenomenon has just graced our skies in Melbourne.

After a time of lull in January it feels like the energy is shifting.

This past month for me has been a gentle easing into the new year. I enjoyed catching up with a close friend who shares my creativity and I was stirred by a rousing musical (The Greatest Showman)  an amazing movie that fuelled my dreams.

I camped in nature, by the ocean and by mountain rivers, I stood under an invigorating waterfall and lay awake at night listening to the peaceful sounds of the bush. I woke to the chorus of birds.

I meditated, journalled and immersed myself in what I love, a bit like dreaming with eyes wide open. Now, though the slumbering may be over, the dreams feel very real.

Let me share a story about what happened to me recently. Bare with me as, buried beneath my words here, is our newest song.

A few weeks ago I wrote a letter to the Universe and buried it in my garden. You might remember, I blogged about it here.

In the letter I poured out my deepest dreams and intentions for this year.

Only a few days later I was at my neighbors house. As I walked back home, in 38C searing heat, I noticed a paper lying on my front lawn.

Thinking it was rubbish blown out from a bin I picked it up. When I read the words I got goosebumps. This was no ordinary sheet of paper.

I looked up and down the street, thinking maybe it was a pamphlet that had been dropped off to every household, but no, it was only in front of my house. So I took it inside, sat on my bed and read it again.

It looked like a page from a book. This is what was written:

LIVING A WONDER FULL WILD LIFE RIGHT NOW

We deserve wildness. Wildness can be as simple as wearing tall boots when none of your friends do, or taking to gorgeous strangers, or visiting expensive hotels for just a cup of tea. Whatever takes us out of our routine and gives us a little interior spark, is wild.

Being tame is what we’re taught.

Put the crayons back, stay in line, don’t talk too loud, keep your knees together, nice girls don’t …

As you might know, NICE GIRLS DO, and they like to feel wild and alive. Being tame feels safe, being wild unsafe. Yet safety is an illusion anyway.

No matter how dry and tame and nice we live, we will die. We will also suffer along the way.

Living wild is its own reward. Tiny wildnesses are everywhere to experiment with.”

There was more on the back.

It ended with the words …
If you asked me what I came into this world to do, I will tell you. I came to live out loud.” Emile Zola.

The words spoke directly into my soul.

Small miracles … these flowers were once all white, then turned purple

Was the Universe hearing me already?

When I emailed Deb, my talented co-creating friend with my story, little did I imagine that within 24 hours she would create a poem from my words.

From that poem this song was born.

Rob has again added his musical talents to produce an ethereal touch that enhances and lifts the song to new heights.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed singing it and as much as we all enjoying creating it.

Here is “Planting Dreams”.

Now, as February beckons, I can feel the focus and energy changing. Tonight I witnessed the rare convergence of a Super Blue Blood Moon and a total lunar eclipse in the heavens. Wow, what a sight!

I have a feeling its brightness will continue to shine on into the rest of 2018.

Releasing, letting go, illuminating … this is a time for moving into a brighter future.

This is the time to fuel our creativity, to find what we love, if we haven’t already, and to make it a part of our life.

It’s a time to explore and nurture our inner child, to meditate, write, draw, dance, sing, immerse yourself in nature or music. It’s a time to find our balance.

Do what fuels your desire and what lights a spark in your heart.

Dare to dream big and know it can come true.

The Universe hears what you put out there. How else can I explain the unexpected page of wild, quirky, inspiring words that appeared practically on my doorstep, only days after burying my own letter of intentions?

So set those goals and believe in them, plan deliberately, feel their power and take steps to turn action into wild creativity.

Live with purpose and passion and you’ll be on the path to joy.

Remember that your mind is like a garden with your thoughts the seeds. Plant the dreams you want, tend your garden and then watch as they come to life.

There’s nothing you can’t be, do or have if you believe.

It might not happen overnight but it will happen.

“Be brave and bold and proud.
Don’t be scared to light that spark.
Live your life out loud”

Here’s to the music continuing and to life blossoming as we continue on our journey.

Happy February everyone. Keep looking up.

In light and love.

  1. Wow, wow and wow – I had no idea that you could sing! And so well too! That waterfall photograph is like something out of a dream. Love all of this post. Oh, apart from that Greatest Showman thang – I can’t get on with musicals at all – sorry and all.
That aside – well done you, Miri!
    Kindness – Robert.

  2. I LOVE that letter! Truly amazing and wonderful timing. I love how it says “Whatever takes us out of our routine and gives us a little interior spark, is wild.” It doesn’t need to be super crazy, just doing something different. Dare to try a new way.Your song is beautiful! And I love that waterfall picture! xx

  3. I love those messages from the Universe! The text by Emile Zola is beautiful and I love the song you have created with this. If I could play the fiddle I would have sat here playing along – the song has a lovely rootsie feel to it and reminds me of some of the traditional music sessions that would spontaneously spring to life when I was traveling through Ireland 😄🎶🍀 xxx

    1. Hi Xenia, thanks for telling me about this message, you’re quite right, it was buried within my spam mail. So glad you enjoyed my song, I tend to agree with you that it has a bit of an Irish, almost Celtic feel, to it. Ooh, how wonderful it would be to have a fiddle accompaniment too. Thanks again Xenia. Hugs xo

  6. two questions …
did you leave that buried letter there when you sold up for someone else to unearth?
May I please use that ‘wild’ note to make into a post … change the words of course, but use them?

I really do love the song and your voice … any chance of getting a copy of the words please?
    sorry that’s 3 🙂

      1. Yes I did leave that buried letter there. I doubt they’ll ever find it, but if they do, that’s ok …
      2. Yes, you may.
      3. I can almost recite them in my head but I’ll have to check, it’s been so long. My guitar music sheets were all packed away and didn’t come with us so I’ll have to do some digging, so to speak. 🙂
