Glow in the Centre

“In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary.” – Aaron Rose

Nowhere will you find a more distinctly and immediately recognisable reddish glow in Australia than in the heart of the Red Centre.

Glen Helen Gorge (800x600)

The red rocks of Glen Helen gorge looked as though they’d been hand painted by Mother Nature herself.

Ormiston Gorge weaved its own magical glow, high above the track and then down along the water holes and amid the ghost gums.

Ayers Rock (800x600)

But it was Uluru that stole the show.

The light that shone on the iconic Rock was awe inspiring. I was thrilled last week to have a photo featured by All Round Australia on Instagram.

I remember the sky that night, it was mesmerising, in every direction.

When I turned away from the rock this is what I saw behind me.

The other side of Ayers Rock (800x600)

The sky behind me was just as spectacular, the moody hues in the clouds intensifying every second. It was proof that beauty is all around us, not just in front of us.

So often we miss it because we’re focused on a different direction.

Look around. Life is everywhere. Beauty is everywhere. If we turn our back for too long we miss out on scenes like this.

Lake Hart (800x600)

I know, I know, I’ve posted photos of Lake Hart before, but I couldn’t resist. The glow that shimmered like glass on the salt lake during sunset hour felt out of this world.

Memories like these are priceless.

In front of the fire (800x600)

Life’s all about the moments, simple ones. Is there anything more perfect than a glass of wine, the glow of a campfire and watching the sun go down in the great outdoors?

Pure peace and stillness.

This pelican knows about that too.

When the glow of the sun finally kisses the horizon goodbye there’s a candle that shines on.

Happy glowing faces (800x600)

Perhaps the best glow of all is the one that shines from each and every one of us when we’re doing what we truly love, with the ones we love.

Travel always gives me that glow.

The only thing that would have made this picture perfect was if my daughter had been with us too.

So live for the moment.

Roo on Cape H (2) (800x600)

Don’t put off doing what makes you smile.

Enjoy the simple things for in reality they’re the big things that matter.

This was sent to me today and I loved it so I’m sharing it here…

It’s all about you, what you like and dislike. What you want and don’t want. What makes you smile and laugh. What makes you learn and grow. What makes you glow.

Selfish?  How else can we shine our light? How else can we hope to lift the world?  How else can we be all that we dreamed we might be?”

May we all find our inner glow

Shine on everyone and have a wonderful week ahead.

Wishing you light and love.

  1. Hi Miriam I think this is the first time on your blog which means I haven’t seen Lake Hart before which is my favourite regarding this post. I do belief there was a special glow about the Aussies when they beat the Kiwis last Saturday! Regards Abrie

  3. Oh you can never post those photos too many times for me!! They are so magical…what a gorgeous place this world of ours is. Let’s not miss out on beautiful pink skies, pelicans sitting on a stump, kangaroos on the beach, those are the things in life that really matter. I love the pink reflection dots that surround the kangaroo in that pic. I have feeling there ‘ll be many more pics shared on Instagram, magazines and other social media by various publishers!! It is all about us and finding what makes us shine, if we don’t shine how will we ever inspire others to shine!! Big shiny hugs xo

    1. Oh, your words sent massive goosebumps up my spine Deb. You’re right of course, we all have that ability to shine don’t we and to inspire others to shine too. Just as you always inspire me. Currently working on a tune for your wonderful words, it’s still a bit elusive, and I haven’t quite got it the way I want it, but it’ll come to me. All good fun. Big hugs back. Talk soon. xo

Imagine it, and then feel how it would sound if you could only describe it with music. Oh I know you’ll come up with something beautiful…you always do!! Big musical hugs and yes talk soon xo

        1. I knew it was, I just knew it. I felt it, just now, as I was singing and playing and the tune is now stronger in my mind. It may not be what you’ve envisaged but it’s getting stronger. Loving it. xo

        2. Hehe….I know you will do it complete justice. I have total faith in what you feel and what flows out of you. Your sensitivity will shine through as it always does. I don’t really have anything solid, just a romantic, tender, loving kind of sound. You’ll capture it…xo 🙂

  5. “May we all find our inner glow”. I love that! Beautiful photos and thoughts Miriam!! Uluru looks like a very special place. I googled it and see that it is sacred to the indigenous people. Your photo of it showcases its magnificence. xo
