Embracing Nature’s Beauty

I know I’ve said it before but since starting this blog I’ve become so much more mindful. Everywhere I go I see life with grateful eyes. From the mountains to the ocean and everything in between … even in my backyard. With the right perspective the ordinary moments become extraordinary.

This week Frank’s Tuesday photo challenge was Nature’s Beauty, another opportunity to share some of my world and mother nature’s beauty, in all her seasons and moods.

In Spring

It’s Spring now, my favorite season, a season of new beginnings when blossoms turn into fragrant flowers that smell like love and spring rain transforms trickles into waterfalls.

In Summer

Under a lush jeweled fern canopy we gaze up and feel the coolness and reprieve of a blazing sun.

And looking down, whether walking barefoot along a pristine beach (like the one here at Wilsons Prom) or kicking up leaves in Autumn, we can appreciate what’s at our feet.

In Autumn

A time of color and renewal and the best time to head into the mountains of Arkaroola

In Winter

Winter is rugging up, invigorating walks, misty mornings and the freshness of a new day.

Nature in my backyard

We don’t have to go far to appreciate nature’s beauty. It can be right in front of us, in our own backyard.

Colorful moments that fleetingly come our way … if we keep our eyes open.

Yesterday we traveled to Sale to clear out mum’s vegetable garden and yard, overgrown with weeds resembling Jack’s Beanstalk.  By the time we finished it was transformed.

Nature’s beauty is food for the soul.

All we have to do is keep our eyes open and we’ll find it all around us.

  9. This is EXACTLY what I needed to read today. All of those quotes you included are divine. Makes me want to pick up those books and read them in like 20 seconds. 🙂 I’m glad it’s spring there. Life seems to be bursting at the seams to renew itself. The pictures are as gorgeous as ever. Especially your mum’s garden. Lovely post by a lovely soul sister.

  21. These pictures!!!!!! Oh my lanta…… I mean your pictures are always spectacular, but WOW! I told my husband that one of the reasons I love blogging is that it allows me to really live in the moment, be mindful of each second, find the humor in little things, and be cognizant of more than my day-to-day. I see you resonate a similar sentiment. Thanks for sharing, Miriam 🙂

It amused me when I read this as I recently had a trip to a local park and took some fabulous photo’s of some really old trees… indeed when my mum died, we had a tree planted in the avenue of trees and scattered her ashes there.. it’s a beautiful place where the deer pass by daily.. mum would’ve loved it. So there you have it.. a love passed down through generations and across the oceans.. x

  36. It is such an amazing feeling when you are going about your day and all of a sudden you become conscious of your appreciation for the earth that you are a part of. I hope that more people in this world follow in your footsteps. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
