Today, after more than a week of dull grey skies in Melbourne, the sun finally broke through. It made me realise how much I crave a blue sky and how profoundly colors affects my mood. Maybe it’s one of the reasons I love traveling so much.
I instantly feel happier when I’m outside, like I’ve stepped into Mother Nature’s easel of vibrant watercolors, and she’s painted me into a vibrant landscape. One that changes constantly, especially when we’re on the road. From big blue skies, deep fiery sunsets and every color in between … her ultimate palette.
It’s one I’ll never grow tired of.
Seeing a colorful rainbow makes me believe in magic. That anything is possible.
Big blue skies above us and red earth below makes me feel connected to everything.
And a colorful track of red earth which blends into orange, like a garden bed of fresh possibilities, is uplifting and fills me with a tangible energy to keep moving forward.
When we do move forward we’re rewarded with beauty like the mountains of the Flinders Ranges that change at night with the colorful light of the fading sun.
From the mountains to the sea, out on the water the intensity of the blue ocean changes depending on the sun. Invigorating us with a sense of peace and joy.
Azure waters off pristine white beaches sparkle like a colorful jewel in a crown. We drove along the shore here at Dutton Bay and swam in pristine waters. Ah, beach days!
Along this river bank near Corryong the colorful vista of green, blue and yellow all blend in to create a peaceful landscape. One I could sit by endlessly with a good book.
Here at dusk colorful canoes rest after a day of fun in the Grampians.
Anywhere near water invigorates me. Beach, river or lake, water is as soothing as music is to my soul.
As a fiery sky kisses the day goodbye at Arkaroola orange and red sunset flames leave me awe inspired and captivated by the beauty of nature.
And where would we be without some quirky travel companions along the way.
We’ve encountered some pretty colorful characters whilst on our journeys.
And enjoyed some colorful moments.
It’s time to celebrate life.
Let’s all live life in color, love passionately, enjoy the beauty around us and embrace the moment. We only have one chance at life so why not make it a colorful one.
This is in response to Frank’s Photo challenge this week – colorful at Dutch Goes the Photo – thanks Frank for the perfectly timed theme allowing me to brighten my world.
Breathtaking beauty! Thanks for sharing!

I love your outlook. Color really does have such a wonderful influence on us. Maybe that’s why Mother Nature invented the seasons. Each season brings new scenes and different palettes. Such a beautiful post, my friend.

Perfect Miriam! You could not have taken Franks theme any better. That picture with the white truck coming down the the red road is just stunning. The water one reminds me of a geode…not sure why but that’s all I could think of…enough to say to Steve…’What are those rock like things that people sometimes make into jewelry or coasters?’ (you know you’ve been married a long time when that’s enough to garner an answer. LOL)
