A Colorful World

Today, after more than a week of dull grey skies in Melbourne, the sun finally broke through. It made me realise how much I crave a blue sky and how profoundly colors affects my mood. Maybe it’s one of the reasons I love traveling so much.

I instantly feel happier when I’m outside, like I’ve stepped into Mother Nature’s easel of vibrant watercolors, and she’s painted me into a vibrant landscape.  One that changes constantly, especially when we’re on the road.  From big blue skies, deep fiery sunsets and every color in between … her ultimate palette.

It’s one I’ll never grow tired of.

Second rainbow

Seeing a colorful rainbow makes me believe in magic.  That anything is possible.

Distance 1 (800x600)

Big blue skies above us and red earth below makes me feel connected to everything.

In the Flinders (800x533)

And a colorful track of red earth which blends into orange, like a garden bed of fresh possibilities, is uplifting and fills me with a tangible energy to keep moving forward.

Rawnsley Bluff in the Flinders (800x533)

When we do move forward we’re rewarded with beauty like the mountains of the Flinders Ranges that change at night with the colorful light of the fading sun.

Southend boating (800x600)

From the mountains to the sea, out on the water the intensity of the blue ocean changes depending on the sun. Invigorating us with a sense of peace and joy.

Eyre Peninsula (800x600)

Azure waters off pristine white beaches sparkle like a colorful jewel in a crown. We drove along the shore here at Dutton Bay and swam in pristine waters. Ah, beach days!

Tumba area (800x600)

Along this river bank near Corryong the colorful vista of green, blue and yellow all blend in to create a peaceful landscape. One I could sit by endlessly with a good book.

Canoes in the Grampians (800x600)

Here at dusk colorful canoes rest after a day of fun in the Grampians.

Anywhere near water invigorates me.  Beach, river or lake, water is as soothing as music is to my soul.

As a fiery sky kisses the day goodbye at Arkaroola orange and red sunset flames leave me awe inspired and captivated by the beauty of nature.

And where would we be without some quirky travel companions along the way.

We’ve encountered some pretty colorful characters whilst on our journeys.

Jumping (800x600)

And enjoyed some colorful moments.

It’s time to celebrate life.

Let’s all live life in color, love passionately, enjoy the beauty around us and embrace the moment.  We only have one chance at life so why not make it a colorful one.

live in the sunshine

This is in response to Frank’s Photo challenge this week – colorful  at Dutch Goes the Photo – thanks Frank for the perfectly timed theme allowing me to brighten my world.

If only we just take a moment to wander our eyes and shift our focus to our sorroundings. Thank you for sharing this post. Its really amazing! I love it! ☺

  2. Gorgeous pictures! Sunshine definitely affects my mood… I need it! And colorful flowers… that makes me smile. Visiting Mom this weekend and she’s amazing with anything plant or flower related… It will be beautiful there, as always.

  3. You are so amazing. These photos will be great in your coffee table book! ❤️

I love your outlook. Color really does have such a wonderful influence on us. Maybe that’s why Mother Nature invented the seasons. Each season brings new scenes and different palettes. Such a beautiful post, my friend.

      1. And what I really love is that we all see things a bit differently. And photos give us the chance to share what we see. You certainly have a way of bringing rainbows to life.

  4. I could easily slip into that riverbank setting and get lost. Such amazing photos, Miriam. Lovely display of all the beauty around us, if we are open to its wonder. Wonderful post. ❤

  5. Perfect Miriam! You could not have taken Franks theme any better. That picture with the white truck coming down the the red road is just stunning. The water one reminds me of a geode…not sure why but that’s all I could think of…enough to say to Steve…’What are those rock like things that people sometimes make into jewelry or coasters?’ (you know you’ve been married a long time when that’s enough to garner an answer. LOL)

  10. My goodness, Dutton Beach is gorgeous!! One of these days I’m going to make it out of my simple Texas life and meet you in Australia for a guided tour. I feel like we’re long lost sisters, going through many of the same emotions and thoughts.
The beauty and grander of the outdoors is a cure all for me too. What a wonderful way to spend the day.
