This won’t come as a surprise to those who know me. Nothing makes me feel more alive than being outdoors in nature. To breath in the fresh air and focus on the now. As Anne says in this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge, “… the universe is constantly whispering words of love: expressions of pure joy, respect, loyalty, and sacrifice for someone other than ourselves, and instructions on letting go and focusing on what is most important in this world.”
To me, what’s important is family, being there for others and feeling at one with nature. When we’re comfortable within and love our world we can better enrich that of others.
Standing underneath the canopy and beneath a towering trunk can make us feel small and yet at the same time connected to everything in the universe.
Creatures of nature that stay together through thick and thin remind me of the bond and commitment of marriage and partnership.
A mother that nurtures and protects her babies reminds me of the love of family.
And the family that plays together stays together.
And when life gets hard the hope and radiance of a rainbow after a dark storm can reignite the love and put everything in perspective. Set the world right again.
Nature can teach us so much. All we have to do is open our eyes, look around and take in the beauty and lessons she has to offer.
The universe is telling me to focus on love. What is it saying to you?
This is in response to the Weekly Photo Challenge – One Love.
Nature is certainly a great source of inspiration and wisdom – lovely post.

I hope you, the kids, the hubby and the hound have a lovely day today. 🙂 I’m going to perform the wrestling of 1000 snakes (otherwise known as putting my toddler down for a nap). 🙂

Hi Miriam! Thank you so much for these reminders to see love in the world around me today! I’m having a difficult week, and I really needed the little nudge. The first shot from under the canopy is simply breathtaking!!! It looks like a professional photograph! I also love the picture of the rainbow. As I was leaving the gym yesterday, I noticed that the parking lot was practically flooded. There were some dark clouds overhead and it was raining on and off earlier in the day, so I thought, “Lucky me, I must have just missed a downpour.” I was so focused on dodging the puddles that it was a few minutes before I glanced up and saw the boldest, most marvelous rainbow I have ever seen! It was as if God knew that I needed a reminder of his love and put it there just for me. Hope you are having a good week!

Sorry to hear you’ve been having a difficult week Lulu. Isn’t it amazing how something so unexpected can pick us up when we’re feeling down. Glad you looked up and noticed it, we can be so focused on looking down and dodging potholes and puddles that we can literally miss what’s all around us. But you didn’t. I hope your week picks up. Take care and I send a big hug to you.

I feel exactly the same way about nature. For me its a recharging of energy and I wonder how anyone can manage without it. Your photographs are beautiful and as I sit here writing from my current urban jungle in Chicago, I feel refreshed by your photos of being submerged in nature.
