Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Pets

Life is never dull in our world with a menagerie of animals, from large to small, keeping us busy.   Meet the ones in my life, with the odd human included for good measure.

Harry the hound, my faithful walking companion. Adopted from a shelter at 12 months old when he was a quivering mess, submissive and scrawny looking.  Over the past 10 years he’s become a faithful, playful, source of happiness and joy in our household. He’s also learned how to relax and fits in perfectly.

Meet Merlin, our quarter horse cross Andalusian, and my daughter’s faithful stead.  He’s a brilliant horse that we’ve owned for nearly four years (keeping us perpetually broke).

Then there are the endless chooks, that come and go as the seasons pass.  And of course our infamous family of guinea pigs who never fail to make their presence felt.

  1. So, Miriam… Let’s count! A beautiful daughter… Harry the hound, a gorgeous dog… Merlin, a majestic Andalusian horse… An infamous family of guinea pigs… This means a lot of love, fun and a big big wonderful family. This is amazing 🙂 I wish I’ll be there with all of you ❤

  2. Great photos! I love your menagerie, but I think my favorite picture is the very last one. Harry looks like he’s perfectly content in that moment, with the wind in his fur, off on his next adventure with his family. It just makes me happy. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  3. Ever since our goldfish, Fish, died a couple of years ago we’ve been a pet free household. We had a cat when we were first married, named Puss, but we never replaced her when she died. Maybe with our lack of originality when naming pets we are better off without any!
